If you have been injured on the job, there are specific measures you want to take to protect your rights, so that you can recover full and fair compensation for all your losses. This page lays out some of the basic steps required to safeguard your rights. You want an experienced workers compensation attorney who has successfully protected the interests of other injured workers to guide you through the process.

The first thing you must do after sustaining an injury or contracting an illness at work is to get the medical care you need. Your next step should be to hire an experienced attorney.
You will have to obtain treatment from a physician who is on the Workers’ Compensation Division’s Approved List of Doctors (ADL). The ADL can be found online at www.tdi.state.tx.us.
You must also provide notice to your employer within 30 days of your injury or the diagnosis of your illness. A completed copy of the DWC-41 must be submitted to the Division office within one year of diagnosis or injury.
At Bailey & Galyen, we can help you at any stage of a workers’ compensation claim, whether you have just been injured and need assistance filing your application for benefits, or your claim has been denied and you need help with an appeal. We will prepare and file all the necessary documentation to get the outcome you need, and will be your liaison with your employer, their insurer, government agency official and the courts.
We offer a free initial consultation to every client. To schedule a private meeting with an experienced Texas Workers Compensation Attorney, contact us by e-mail or call our office at one of the numbers below. Our staff is available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
